Reference standard crack standards – flat (“plate”)

Accurate setting and checking

Flat  defect standards are used to set the sensitivity of the DEFECTOMETER M 1.837. Other eddy current testing systems for crack detection also use  defect standards from the material to be tested to set the sensitivity. Since the test sensitivity depends on the quality of the defect standard, the standards must meet the highest dimensional tolerances.

If poor defect standards are used, this can lead to incorrect test results. In order to additionally assure the quality after the point-by-point measurement, FOERSTER optionally offers an exact determination of the defect dimensions with a laser microscope.
